ESX Setup
Prepare an ESX Legacy server for the STG UI Pack, the multicharacter switch, skinchanger, esx_skin, loading screen and chat.
ESX ships a few resources that do the same job as the UI Pack. Two resources doing the same job fight each other, so turn the ESX ones off before you install the pack. Do every step that belongs to a script you bought.
Turn on the ESX multicharacter switch (Multicharacter)
Open es_extended/shared/config/main.lua and find this line:
Config.Multichar = falseChange it to:
Config.Multichar = trueWithout this, ESX loads the player on its own before the character menu can open. STG Multicharacter prints a red error in the server console as long as it is still false.
Remove esx_multicharacter (Multicharacter)
If your server has esx_multicharacter, delete it or move it out of the resources folder. Keep esx_identity: it adds the name, birth date and sex columns that characters need.
Remove skinchanger and esx_skin (Appearance)
STG Appearance takes over both of them. ESX scripts that open the skin menu (job cloakrooms, esx_property, esx_accessories) open the STG menu instead, and looks saved by skinchanger are converted when they load.
Delete skinchanger and esx_skin, or move them out of the resources folder. Moving them to another place inside [core] is not enough, ensure [core] starts them again.
Remove the duplicate shops (Appearance, optional)
esx_clotheshop and esx_barbershop have shops at the same spots as STG Appearance, so the map would show two blips. Stop them, or remove those locations from stg-appearance/shared/shops.lua.
Remove esx_loadingscreen (Loading Screen)
Only one loading screen can run. Delete esx_loadingscreen from [core] or move it out of resources.
Replace the default chat (Chat)
In server.cfg, remove this line or put # in front of it:
ensure chatSTG Chat answers every chat event and export, so your other scripts keep working. esx_chat_theme only styles the old chat, you can remove it too.
Restart the whole server
es_extended reads its config only when the server starts, so restart the server itself. A resource restart is not enough.
Good to know on ESX
- esx_cruisecontrol has its own seatbelt on B. While it runs, the HUD shows its seatbelt and the STG seatbelt stays off. Stop it if you want the STG seatbelt.
- esx_rpchat already has
/meand/do. STG Chat leaves those two to it while it runs. - Names are limited to 16 characters on ESX, because that is the size of the
usersname columns. - Existing characters stay. ESX stores them as
char1:<license>, the same format STG Multicharacter uses. - esx_status has no stress. The HUD stress gauge stays hidden until a script sends stress.
