Clothing Photos
Generate a photo of every clothing piece, hat, hairstyle and beard so STG Appearance and the STG inventory show real pictures instead of numbers.
STG Appearance can show every clothing piece, prop, hairstyle and beard as a photo card instead of a number. The photos come from uz_AutoShot, a free, open source resource by UZ Scripts that photographs every item once and stores the pictures on your server.
This is optional. Without uz_AutoShot, STG Appearance uses the classic arrow buttons and everything else works the same.
What you get
- STG Appearance: clothes, props, hair and beards are picked from a grid of photos in every shop and in the character creator.
- STG Inventory: when clothes are items (
Config.MetaClothing), every clothing item shows the photo of the exact piece.
Requirements
- screenshot-basic, already on most servers, or screencapture
- FiveM server artifacts with
yarnsupport (every build since 4892)
Install uz_AutoShot
Download it
Open uz_AutoShot on GitHub, click Code, then Download ZIP, and extract it into your resources folder. The folder must be named uz_AutoShot.
Start it
Add it to server.cfg after screenshot-basic and before STG Appearance:
ensure screenshot-basic
ensure uz_AutoShot
ensure [STG]On the first start the server installs its Node packages through yarn. Wait for it to finish before you join.
Keep the PNG format
Leave Customize.ScreenshotFormat = 'png' in uz_AutoShot/Customize.lua. The STG inventory reads the clothing photos as PNG files.
Take the photos
Open the studio
Join the server and type /shotmaker. Your character moves into a hidden studio room.
Pick the categories
Tick the clothing slots, the props, the hair and the beards you want. Hats and glasses are under props, beards are under overlays.
Start the run
Click Start. The script tries every piece one by one and saves a photo of each. A full run takes a while, so do it on a quiet server or a test server. Press Space to pause and resume.
Restart uz_AutoShot
When the run is done, type restart uz_AutoShot in the server console so the new photos are served to players.
Photos are taken for the freemode models only (mp_m_freemode_01 and mp_f_freemode_01). Run /shotmaker once for each gender if you want photos for both.
Turn it on in STG Appearance
Photos are on by default. In stg-appearance/shared/config.lua:
Config.Photos = 'auto' -- photo cards when uz_AutoShot is running and has the photos, false for the arrow buttonsA slot without photos, for example a newly added clothing pack, falls back to the arrow buttons until you photograph it.
Lock the commands to staff
By default every player can use /shotmaker. To limit it to staff, set Customize.AceRestricted = true in uz_AutoShot/Customize.lua and add to server.cfg:
add_ace group.admin command.shotmaker allow
add_ace group.admin command.wardrobe allowTroubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Photos come out black or empty | screenshot-basic must start before uz_AutoShot in server.cfg. |
| Appearance still shows arrow buttons | Check that uz_AutoShot is started, that Config.Photos is 'auto', and that you restarted uz_AutoShot after the run. |
| Clothing items in the inventory have no picture | Keep Customize.ScreenshotFormat = 'png' and photograph the matching clothing slots. |
uz_AutoShot is made and maintained by UZ Scripts. For bugs inside uz_AutoShot itself, open an issue on its GitHub page.
